So, this month POUT from Elaine at The Glass Bar moved to a plush new venue. Given that I hadn't had a good old dance in a while, and I wanted to celebrate dropping a few kilos, this was just too good an opportunity to miss.
It isn’t often that you see an over 25s event taking place in East London so when DIVA After Dark popped up I was at first a little unsure. I don’t see myself as young enough or trendy enough to spend time around Shoreditch and it certainly isn’t an area I will often go, however my friend was running the event so I wanted to support her, and as a new event, I also wanted to check it out for all the Planet Nation readers.
Last night I witnessed the birth of a huge shift in the scene. The vibe was electric. The talent was extreme. It felt like a scene out of The L Word... where was this amazing event you ask?
It was dark. It was hot. Ash brought a game - mini assignments on pieces of paper that will get you meeting new people. Go to someone and tell them they are hot, one read. Shout out I'm ....in the toilet queue, read another. See what happens!
Isn't it fun how you always read reviews post event? What if there was a live stream that you could follow on Twitter about what's going on and where the action is? Selfies, shots and all things fun included!
I had a great time at London Winter Pride. From the moment I got in and took funky pictures blowing bubbles against graffiti painted on the spot, (see proof below) to slow grinding to the rhythms of R&She (yes, I like to drop it like it's hot), or moving to the beat of Michelle Manetti – it was a good night.
SHE sits in the heart of Soho, and hosts an array of sapphic-fantastic events, such as queerlesque performances, female fronted comedy, and guest DJs every weekend. In just the last few weeks, we've enjoyed the BOi BOX drag kings, Supernova Bombshell burlesque performers, and were treated to some R&B, hip-hop and tropical sounds, at the monthly AFFAIR club night.
The news is in - Titania Soho is closing (hardly surprising if you've been there recently given every other shop in the block has closed down). A new venue is promised from February 2016!
Another New Year is creeping up on us... so we let you know what is on in the big City... where will you be going?
MIRI launched her brand new EP last Thursday, at the Star by Hackney Downs, an intimate venue that compliments her style perfectly. MIRI’s voice is more grown-up, sultry, and contains a raw emotion that makes you believe every word she sings.
Labels are out and now we have a new restaurant and lounge called MUSE Soho which aims to inspire the LBQ women in London. We popped along to their launch on Easter Thursday to see what was on offer.
Have you heard the rumblings on the street recently? Labels is no more... but in it's place is a simply stunning new venue which you will simply love: introducing Muse Soho
All music played was by Girls: girl-bands, women-fronted bands, female and female artists of various persuasions.
