Croydon PrideFest, London’s second biggest pride, will kick off at 1.30pm with a parade through the town centre to Surrey Street, where the main festival will take place with a stage hosting live music and other acts throughout the day.
Singer-songwriter Christopher Haul is confirmed to be performing and compèring at Croydon PrideFest. Christopher has performed across Europe alongside acts like McFly and Robbie Williams, and hosted a range of events and comes to Croydon on the back of performances at Pride festivals in Liverpool, Bournemouth and North Wales, as well as part of the first Digital Pride festival at Heaven nightclub in London.
The Pride Parade on North End will be launched by the Mayor of Croydon, Wayne Trakas-Lawlor and led by dozens of LGBT+ organisations from Croydon and the surrounding area. Among these groups is Proud and Palace, the Crystal Palace FC LGBT supporters’ group which officially launched last week at Selhurst Park. The group wants to show the world that Crystal Palace is an inclusive club, open to everyone, so Proud and Palace will be at the forefront of Croydon PrideFest.
As well as the parade there will be food and drink stalls will come from many of the usual outlets on Surrey Street Market, and there will be a licensed bar run by Crafty Group, the team behind the successful Crafty Purley and Croydon Craft Beer festivals.
